I remember seeing this on the Johnny Carson show and agree with Cathy that there will never be another like Johnny. I watch a U-Tube rerun of his stuff every now and then .
When Steve Martin did this act the night I watched, I remember thinking, "Oh no, this is really going to be in bad taste." But he did it with such aplomb and dignity the sketch was hilarious. At first, too, I didn't care for Steve Martin as a comedian, but as the years went by I came to like him a whole lot. Again and again he would come across as SUCH an idiot that I came to really like the guy. The change was in me, not in him.
Funny stuff :o)
ReplyDeleteDave, thanks for the entertainment. I love Steve Martin. And, I do say no one can replace Johnny Carson.
ReplyDeletePriceless, thanks Dave.
