CONFUSED BY MARKETING - CONSIDER COMPUTER CLUB RECOMMENDATIONS
The Computer Club's recommendation seems great. Can anyone tell me what the commitment is on such a plan ($33.24 plus tax)? Want to know for snow birds who are here for 4 or 5 months. If it is a one or two year commitment, it probably is not cost effective.
The $33.24 derives directly from our contract, this is the optional 100Mbit INIERNET: $21.99 plus $8.00 MODEM rental plus $3.25 Network recovery fee = $33.24. One could mitigate the MODEM rental by buying the MODEM. A Snowbird can turn in the MODEM prior to departing the Village and eliminate the charge entirely; in other words, the INTERNET option can be turned on and off.
1. The middle option exactly combines the first and third options (you need only one modem). 2. Is it possible to bundle Internet, Telephone, and Modem only - no TiVo or DTA? 3. For those with AT&T, I believe that a cable modem connected to one wall jack will activate the others in the condo. If not, a cordless phone base with secondary handsets as needed will do. 4. If you wish to purchase your own modem, (a) Go to https://approvedmodemlist.com/atlantic-broadband-approved-modems/ (b) Cross reference with Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, etc. (c) These sellers all offer two or three year warranties. Best Buy, for example, offers a two year replacement warranty for $10 - $20 depending on the price of your modem.

Does that answer the question?
