LEST WE FORGET - "THE DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY
I was five years and one day old on December 7, 1941, but I remember that day, for our dad let us know that a terrible thing had happened. The country had been invaded by Japan in an unannounced surprise sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. "A Day of Infamy" president Roosevelt called it. My cousin David McCarter, who was 12 years older than I, soon was in the Navy aboard a minesweeper in the Pacific.
Yes, let us remember that day and remember those who fought in the two great theaters of World War II and elsewhere. And those as well who suffered under those brutal regimes, some losing family members. None of that touched me, but it did many amongst us here.
