UCO Investigation
What is the underlying authority for the requirement for a background check of a resident? Is it a condo corp by condo corp decision or one from UCO?
It is the fiduciary responsibility of the Board to make sure any new purchases have been investigated or occupancy and then must be approved by the board from the info they receive. By using UCO investigations if you decide the board is not sure it can be looked at by our lawyer FREE of charge and a recommendation is given to the Board. The Board then makes the decision based on that if they want or can reject.
Hi Grace, There is no Florida Statute requiring that any Association do a screening or background check (Investigation), unless you have put it in your Bylaws, a very wise thing to do.
UCO will do the Investigation upon your Association request, or you may have it done elsewhere, like by Seacrest.
Does it make sense not to Investigate prospective Residents???

ReplyDeleteThe question was not answered. You say the responsibility of the Board. Is it a law of condos or a UCO suggestion?
