FPL Oxygen in Storms
If we lose power during the storm, what kind of priority do we have with FPL? Pls check CERT, Kerner, FPL. Last time we apparently had no priority and had to beg repeatedly for our people on oxygen. We should be scheduled immediately after nursing homes.

I have just (10 PM) spoken with an ABB representative at the Century Village dedicated number.
According to him, the email about rising rates DOES NOT APPLY to BULK CUSTOMERS. Century Village has a ten-year contract with ABB: nine years to go. The representative looked at my billing through November: It does not change. I suggested he get in touch with ABB and send out a email to all bulk customers stating that rate increases do not apply to them. The representative said that he had been getting many phone calls.

ATLANTIC BROADBAND PRICE INCREASES
I just got an email from Atlantic Broadband with price increases effective September 1, 2020 for residential customers. It really went up significantly. Did anyone else get an email?

Notary Services
To a casual visitor to the UCO office, it seemed like Ron Massa was at the front desk quite often. I’m sure his shoes will be very difficult to fill.
I would say, in addition to the duties Ron carried out for UCO internally, he was extremely valuable to unit owners and association board members who needed documents notarized.
Has UCO given any consideration to again have a notary available for community members to utilize?
If UCO was willing to pay the notary fees for a few UCO volunteers to become a notary it would be an excellent use of UCO funds.
I can’t think of any service or amenity available in Century Village, that would show a greater return on money spent, than to again provide notary services to the community.
Comparing the return on money spent to subsidize, for instance, the excursions buses. (not picking on them, but I need a quick example, there are several.) You name the amenity or service, none could match the return on investment than compared to the gain in effectiveness. Money spent does not result in fumes out a tailpipe, for instance, but greatly assists board members to improve their efficiency. It can do nothing but positively impact the community.
Two association board members who do not drive, have to cross Okeechobee on foot to have a COA for Occupancy notarized. Obviously, this is unsafe, takes planning and is not a cost-effective way of utilizing association’s resources. The UCO building was built on the north side of Okeechobee for a reason. Let’s continue to utilize its convenient location and have convenient notary service available for community members. The return is unmeasurable.
In closing, thank you to all the volunteers that keep UCO functioning so well.
