ALLOWING MEDICAL CENTER TO BE A "PLACE OF WORSHIP" COUNTY MEETINGS PLANNED

 -

PROPERTY MANAGER’S REPORT By Donald Foster, LCAM UCOMAINTENANCE@GMAIL.COM UCOGARBAGE@GMAIL.COM

-

The new owners of the CV Medical Building, Khal Chassidim of WPB, have applied to Palm Beach County for a variance to allow for a “Place of Worship”, along with two swimming pools, a two story addition to the building, and reduced parking and setbacks.

-

On 1/21, UCO was informed that at a recent meeting, the applicants were instructed by PBC staff to resubmit their application. Once this new application is certified by PBC staff, it will go to the PBC Zoning Commission and also to the PBC Board of County Commissioners for review.

-

This will allow for at least two opportunities for public comment by Century Village unit owners. It is expected that the earliest opportunity for this application to be placed on the PBC Zoning Board’s agenda is April, 2022. UCO will keep CV unit owners updated on any further developments in this matter.

-

Thanks to the efforts of PBC Commissioner’s Weiss and his staff, an informational ZOOM meeting will be held by PBC Zoning Division staff for Century Village unit owners. This meeting will take place on February 9th, 2022, at 1:00 PM. All CV unit owners are encouraged to attend this important informational meeting.

When this matter is placed on the agendas of the PBC Zoning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners, UCO will notify CV unit owners on all Community media, provide comment cards, and provide bus transportation for both meetings

APPLICATION TO ALLOW THE MEDICAL CENTER TO BE A "PLACE OF WORSHIP"

 -

The following Email is from the chief of Commissioner Weiss's staff:

-

Niels Heimeriks

2:14 PM (17 minutes ago)
to meDonald

Hi Dave and Donald,

The applicants had a pre-application meeting with staff and were told they will have to resubmit. If they resubmit at the earliest opportunity to do so, namely in February, and if the application gets certified by staff in February, then this application would go to the zoning commission(ZC) and to the board of county commissioners (BCC) in April.

So here are the takeaways:

The public will have an opportunity to weigh in on this application/proposal at the Zoning Commission Meeting AND at the Board of County Commissioners Meeting.

The earliest that this could happen would be ZC meeting on April 7, and then the BCC meeting on April 28.

As I mentioned to you all at the last UCO meeting I am working on setting up an informational ZOOM meeting where residents can ask questions to staff. I’ll keep you in the loop on all of this.

Storm screen/vinyl repair

Has anyone had a repair to the vinyl covering the storm windows in the rear of their unit? One of mine has torn and I would like to get it repaired/replaced. While it is installed like a screen, I can't seem to find someone who installs the vinyl. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.
