Security was called and they said they were sending someone, a half hour later, I left thinking, is this what we call security? How did this person get in to begin with? Is this an illegal "visitor"?

WANT CAPTIONS? WE'LL GIVE YOU CAPTIONS!

Poor Dave Israel. He complained that the captions for the photos in his article "Dome of Light" were missing, and he is right, we missed the ball at the Reporter on that one. They would have helped a lot. But we may have the solution, discussed last night, and our CAM, Donald Foster, helped with some refinements. We'll put Dave's articles on very technical subjects in comic strip form and use those little balloons for captions. And every once in a while (this was Donald's suggestion) we will leave the balloons blank for the reader to fill in. This could even be done as a kind of Q & A: See if you filled in the balloons correctly; answers on page 17. We are a little afraid to run this by Joy Vestal—in fact, Donald has skipped town today. He and Chris are headed for the Brazilian jungles for a week. From one jungle to another....

Road Closures
Due to Grade Crossing Maintenance
 
The following announcements have been updated.  
 
Lucerne Avenue (SR-802) and Florida East Coast Railroad (Brightline/All Aboard Florida) (City of Lake Worth)
Westbound traffic will be detoured south via South Federal Highway or South Dixie Highway to 6th Avenue South, then west to South A Street and north to Lake Worth Road/Lake Avenue.  Local traffic will be detoured at North G Street north to 3rd Ave North, then west to North A Street, then south to Lake Worth Road (SR-802)/Lake Avenue. 
THIS WORK HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED AT A FUTURE DATE.
 
Okeechobee Boulevard (SR-704) (Eastbound) and Florida East Coast Railroad (Brightline/All Aboard Florida) (City of West Palm Beach)
Okeechobee Boulevard (SR 704) will be closed to eastbound traffic at the Florida East Coast Railroad from 7 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured north via Australian Avenue or Tamarind Avenue to Banyan Boulevard, then east to South Quadrille Boulevard and south to Okeechobee Boulevard (SR-704).
 
An alternate detour will detour traffic south on Parker Avenue to Belvedere Road, then east to South Dixie Highway, then north to Okeechobee Boulevard.
