PBCWUD is constantly monitoring their wells,should you have any doubts as to the purity,why not contact them directly..as for bottled water,an expose recently surfaced,which you can research.
There is a boil water notice for the Northeast section of CV as Bettie said and it won't be lifted until the 29th.

Yes, that is because there was a watermain break near Plymouth laundry; probably due to AT&T digging. This is a temporary condition, until that branch flushes.
The main Post implies that "the local water here" may not be safe; what is the evidence for that?

To my knowledge , the water is fine in most of the CV except the Northeast section due to the plymouth break as you said. There is no evidence of bad water throughout CV.
ReplyDeleteHow are many in the Village supposed to know about 'boil water alerts' if we are not on a grapevine? I have seen other communities use the sandwich board at the gate system. Low tech but it would spread the word faster. Bet the carpentry group and Safety Cmte could get together on that. This isn't exactly a Bob/Dave question but perhaps they could pass this to Safety Cmte.

A boil-water order is in place until Thursday evening for more than 300 households at the Century Village community in suburban West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County's utilities department said.
Water was cut from about 1:25 p.m. to 7:35 p.m., according to an advisory sent to the media at 8 p.m. Monday.
The cutoff came after a contractor working in Century Village hit a six-inch water main. Workers set about replacing a section of the damaged main.
The order, which runs for 72 hours after service is restored, directs customers to bring all water that's to be consumed to a rolling boil for at least three minutes, then cool.
The affected areas of Century Village are Plymouth, Easthampton, Salisbury, Waltham, Norwich, Coventry, Sheffield, and Stratford, and the medical building, the release said.
I once read that the county got its water from recycled (cleaned-up) toilet water. Ideally, all that garbage should be out and the water should be all right, right?
