Officer's questions

It has been suggested that some of UCO officers answer questions presented by Bloggers.

I'm volunteering to do this with a few restrictions.

The questioner must be identifiable by the Blog administrators.

I reserve the right to forward the questioner to a different source hopefully better qualified to

answer the question.

There may be additional restrictions as the process evolves.

  1. Hi Bob,

Ditto here, let's hope this starts a trend.

  2. That is great, thanks guys for taking on extra questions. UCO input has been the missing piece of the puzzle for the Blog. I hope when the Blog gets its kickoff at the next Delegate Meeting that George will encourage all UCO to participate.
Actually questions answered on the Blog should reduce phone and walk-in individual questions to UCO.

  3. Thanks Bob for this opportunity.
    H1N1 flu vaccine:
Canadian snowbirds will start arriving soon and in many instances the H1N1 vaccine is not available yet at their home cities and I read that the same is true for many US residents. Is UCO planning to organize any mass vaccine day or it is up to everyone to manage to get a flu shot with the local health organization when in Florida? Thank you Andre

  4. You can get the flu shot in Montreal starting this morning. The priority is children and pregnant women first. Seniors are not a priority as they, whoever they are, say we should have some antibodies left over from the last round of the swine flue. I have not had the flu shot in years and will not get this flu shot.

  5. As you say Grace, seniors are not the priority here neither and since we are leaving next weekend, we cannot get the swine flu shot here. I intend to have the vaccine not only to protect myself but protect others with whom I may come into contact.
My question still stand for Bob. Thanks for your comments anyway. Andre

  6. Andre, there has been no discussion in UCO regarding your question. I will bring up the subject at Thursday's Officers meeting.

I was just watching the news and the commentator stated that at this time no knows when the vaccine will be available here and from all indications I've seen only children are being considered at this time.

As Grace so wisely stated us seniors have had years to build up an immunity.

I will say however, that I have received my "regular" flu shot about a week ago and I'm still taking doing well!
