When the clubhouse reopens we will ask for their regulations to publish on this blog. In my limited experience the rules seem to be a combined effort of WPRF and the UCO Operations Cmte. Currently the clubhouse guards have new emphasis on ID regs and can explain those, also they will point you to whichever office will answer your questions.
ReplyDeleteWhile Clubhouse is closed for fumigation IDs can be obtained at Hastings Fitness Center. 10/19,20,21. Guard informs me.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of rules; I am wondering why security is allowing people with dogs into the village! Not to be nasty but someone I know who lives in Stratford has a son who visits with his dog!
ReplyDeleteHi "concerned unit owner",
ReplyDeleteOctober 19, 2009 9:30 PM,
This issue has come up at many meetings of the Security Committee.
There are some complications, because some Associations have passed Pet Amendments which permit pets in their units and on their property.
UCO forbids dogs on UCO property; but if a vehicle comes through a Village gate; it would be difficult for the guard to check if the unit owner resides in a pet friendly building.
Think about it a bit, as there are other complications. Which Stratford building are you speaking of; or more pertinently, is it a pet friendly building? If so, then there has been no violation.
If not, then there is a violation of the building Bylaws; which UCO has no power to enforce or become involved, unless specifically requested by the Association to become involved.
Clearly, your question opens up a "can of worms"!

There is an additional entitlement for pet entry into the Village regardless of the 'pet friendly' status of an Association. The Americans With Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) requires that service animals be allowed wherever their owners want to go.
ReplyDeleteOf course service animals are allowed. That is not even a need to discuss that. It is the law. My thinking is that going through the visitors gate with a dog should be questioned. Where I live you cannot bring a pet to even visit!
