Today's ( Feb 5) Delegates' Assembly Meeting
For those unable to attend today's meeting...please make every effort to view
it on 63..in particular the portion devoted to "Good & Welfare"...also urge all
your neighbours to do likewise..You will hear & see, the hardships suffered by
several residents, some of which are still not able to return to their homes, due to water damages, and the company hired to make the necessary repairs.
They should be brought up on "Abuse of the elderly" charges!

Hi Betty,
ReplyDeleteI attempted to view it this evening and in the time slot, I found naught but a black screen.
How strange!
Dave Israel
Not too hard to understand why there was no show on 63. Let's call First Priority to get them on the case!
ReplyDeleteI understand there were questions about Ist Priority and it's operations in CV. Am I right?
ReplyDeleteI'll catch it tonight on 63. It shows around 7:10pm
I was appalled at the meeting yesterday to hear all the horrible stories and sufferings of our people at the hands of 1st Priority. We were not given a choice of who to use when a pipe broke in our association. Dan had 1st Priority on the phone in seconds of my telling him of our problem. In the downstairs unit with the owner of north they tore the place apart because of mold although I saw none and the insurance adjuster for the owner said there was just minor repairs to repair the hole in the wall made by the company a board on the floor on the kitchen cabinets and the hole in the ceiling. I was told by 1st Priority to but out when I questioned them taking out all the cabinets in kitchen and bathroom. They charged $800 for a small kitchen cabinet that stands on the floor because the owner of the upstairs condo wanted an extra. I didn't pay $800 for all my new kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. They took advantage of our elder neighbors. When it was all over I was asked by Dan to go to a meeting to get 1st Priority more money. I now realize I should not have gone. I never did see any bills that I had asked for.
ReplyDeleteI did not find George very sympathetic with these people who just wanted everyone at the meeting to hear their heart breaking stories. He just wanted an end altough he said he was very sorry. I cannot believe that George didn't know about this mess before 3 months and then why didn't he start an investigation into the allegations against one or two of his colleagues?
What about Peter Amato who was upset with Jerry Karpf and the Tankless Water Heaters that Peter Amato has been installing here. He kept saying that in other counties they are legal. Well they are not here. Jerry printed a letter from the department of Planning Zoning & Building. As well our old condos are not wired to accomodate the tankless water heaters that would heat our water properly. I think that Peter Amato should take his business to the counties that would allow what he is selling. Actually what he was doing at the meeting yesterday and his pal was electioneering. He should have been stopped from talking as soon as it became apparent what he was doing. Was George asleep? He had no right to stand up there telling everyone he was running for president and he would take their numbers and send them his pamphlet. Anyone who wanted one could have gotten it from him on the road when we were driving in to the meeting. It was a disgrace.
I would hope that we can have a president of UCO who is not running his business in the community and not an insurance man who is pushing one company to do the repairs of broken pipes. I would hope we can have a president who is truly thinking of our interests.
After viewing UCO's President and Insurace Guru on 63. Just whose interest is UC0 looking out for?
ReplyDeleteI encourage anyone who has been victimized by any contractor, insurance advisor, insurance adjuster, or public adjuster, to contact myself, Lee Hunt (561) 202-8460, or Jean Dowling (561) 640-7606, to add your name to the growing list of victims of those mentioned above. We will have a meeting on February 22, to discuss what is planned to combat these cruel victimizations of our villagers and how you all can participate in these efforts. More details about when, where, how, what, etc. will be forthcoming in future blog posts and through phone calls and emails. Please insure that you pass the word to anyone who has not already contacted Jean or myself to please do so. Leave your name, phone number, email address, association, and president's name and phone number on the voicemail if we don't answer.
ReplyDeleteMost importantly, I want to send this personal message to those of you who are elderly, disenfranchised, who have suffered at the hands of these unscrupulous people who have intimidated you, threatened you, and forced you to become very afraid and fearful of retaliation - I say to you that YOU NOW HAVE A VOICE. This voice is getting stronger and louder each day. You no longer need to fear these people. If you receive any more intimidating calls or personal attempts to try to force you to do something against your will through coercion, threats, or intimidation, simply ask them - no - TELL THEM - to call this phone number - 561-202-8460, and hang up or close the door. Then, I want you to call me immediately. If I don't answer right away, leave me a voice message. You need not be afraid any longer. Spread the word... to all victims and owners in the Village....
Fot those of you who plan to attend the meeting with the UCO lawyer on Wednesday of this week, please call Jean Dowling prior to that date, or attend a pre-lawyer meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, at 10 AM in the party room of the main clubhouse. We need to discuss with you the appropriate process of when, when not to, and how to provide documentation and information at the meeting on Wednesday. I personally recommend you not provide any documentation at that time but instead take the opportunity to ask legal questions and discuss legal scenarios similar to your own situation without going into detail regarding your own personal situation at this time, as we are still in the preliminary phase of accumulating information for our "Victims' Rights Group" meeting on February 22. At that time, you will have a much better understanding of how our group plans to proceed. I ask that between now and the Feb 22 meeting, any victims and/or their association presidents gather all documentation regarding each incident into separate folders. You should have one folder per incident. We will also be providing you with a questionaire that will help you to explain what happened in each incident. More details to follow. Please be sure to contact Jean Dowling or attend this very important meeting on Tuesday (tomorrow, Feb 9th.)
ReplyDeletePlease see the post titled, "Help Is On The Way To Fearful Victims!"
ReplyDeletefor more detailed information on the efforts to deal with the problems described during the meeting seen on Channel 63.
I have a question? Are the televised meetings copyrighted, or can an owner legally make a copy of the tv show? After all, it IS a Delegates' Meeting. The owners are the delegates. Just stands to reason - since we are the owners, we should have the right to own our own meeting. It should be in the Bi-Laws, I would imagine. Can someone ask the lawyer during the 1st Priority Scandal meeting Wednesday morning at 10AM in the main clubhouse? Thanks!
DgtlXray,
ReplyDelete"I have a question? Are the televised meetings copyrighted, or can an owner legally make a copy of the tv show?"
Copyright is basically the legal exclusive right of the author of a creative work to control the copying of that work. The Delegate Meetings do not constitute a creative work, nor are these videotaped meetings copyrighted.
Up until January, the CV BLOG made copies of Delegate Meetings for the benefit of those who were up North or otherwise unable to attend. These meetings were accessible world-wide. It was too time consuming to continue placing these meetings on the Blog.
There is no law which prevents the copying of official records of a corporation of which you are a member, or copying a videotape of a Board of Directors meeting (which is an official record). This is your right to do so. I believe that FCC rules regarding materials transmitted on Community Access channels, like our Channel 63, is public domain.
The Bylaws of UCO do not address the issue of official records.
