No Refund Policy - Advance Purchase/Cancellation
Sometime last spring, the powers that be, came together and formulated a no refund
ticket policy, regardless of circumstances ( I attended both meetings where this
topic was discussed and voiced my opposition as a Guest) later that fall, this
issue was re-visted and once more, the consensus was that the policy would stand
as is, but could be discussed once again, early 2010, before the literature that
accompanys the 2010-11 Season's Entertainment Brochure, was prepared.
It is my understanding this policy was again discussed, at this past Monday's Special Operation's Meeting, which I was unable to attend (family medical issues)
and could not voice my opposition, for the 3rd time.
When first I approached this policy, I did not dream, that I would be one of it's
victims...both my husband & I, had severe medical issues from Thanksgiving through
January, both being hospitalized and confined to our home. We were able to absorb
the costs most fortunately, not everyone is able to do so.
If the current policy continues, which also includes, talent replacement
should the original performer cancel, I know many of our residents will no longer
participate in the Pre purchase program, particularly in this economy...
Exceptions must be applied to this No Refund Policy, under any Circumstances.

It would be abominable if refunds were not made in the cases of death with a surviving spouse. I was one of those cases in 1996 and received a full refund. The inablility to attend shows in emergency situations, such as hospitalization should be a second consideration......my opinion.

ReplyDeleteI AGREE a refund policy makes good sense.
in lou of a no refund policy, a bulletin board specifically designed
as a ticket exchange, placed outside the ticket office would make good sense.
Common sense is not common
