Think your going to need more space
I would like to suggest that the next candidate with the most votes, Phyllis Richland be named a vice president to take Dave's place. Why go throgh another election process.
ReplyDeleteIt is bylaw requirement, Officers vote:
ReplyDelete"C. Any vacancy of an elected or appointed officer occurring before the expiration of a term, shall be filled by the affirmative vote of the majority of the remaining Officers' Committee Members. The filling of any vacancy of an officer must be approved at the next meeting of the Delegate Assembly at which a quorum is present. In the event that the remaining officers fail to agree on an appointment, or, the Delegate Assembly fails to approve the appointment, a special election by the Delegate Assembly shall be held to fill the vacancy. Such officer shall serve for the unexpired term of the seat being filled."
I agree, power to the women, Phyllis for a kinder people-friendly UCO.
Elaine, (repost with capitalized correction)
ReplyDeleteThe officers vote once the vacancy actually exists and the new Officers Committe is officiated (after in installation). A majority of the remaining members (5 affirmative votes out of 8 are required) shall determine the preferred candidate, which choice is subject to the approval of the Delegate Assembly at the next meeting. If no choice is agreed upon by a majority of the Officers or the Delegates FAIL TO approve the appointment, a special election is announced and nominations (as in the regular election) to fill the vacancy can begin at that meeting.
I'm sure that the Monday meeting is to consider the candidate options
