Oxford 400 Fire

I looked at the Oxford 400 fire site late this morning. The residents had left the area, you can see why. There was a good result in that no-one was hurt.
The downstairs end unit had the fire and smoke went up and along the rest of the block. 8 units have smoke damage, the Rolyn Co. is working on 4 units using scrubbers to filter smoke and soot from the air, and taking damage pictures! All units are blackened, some have wet soot sludge on the floors.
Reportedly the fire began around 6 pm last night while the owners were out. The president and friends called the Fire Dept and were unable to open doors at the burning unit the smoke was so heavy. The Fire Dept professionals worked until about 1am and did additional work early this morning. They said it was a very hot one, you can see mostly metal remains.
The Fire Dept will make an investigation, the cause of the fire is not known and the report will not be out for a couple of weeks.

  1. Lucky the whole place didn't go up in flames. Good reason to make sure that a set of keys are kept with the president so the fire dept. or whomever else would need to get into a unit in an emergency can.

  2. OK, I reduced the number of my fire photos, just too depressing. This morning an Oxford person got trip to hospital probably fire aftershock.

  3. Hospital trip on Saturday was not fire-related, sorry.
    Ignore all rumors.
