2010-11 Entertainment Season

Along with others I had the opportunity to view the Trailer of the up coming season's
programs, this past Tuesday..It contained many familiar faces ( those that have
appeared here in the past )in addition to several that have not..
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE, is my conclusion, however in view of the current Policy
of NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES,which I BELIEVE should be RE-VISITED, I wonder
how SUCCESSFUL, this year's PRE PAID SEASON TICKET PROGRAM,will be.
Since 2003, I have participated in this program, however after learning of the
Policy change,at an Operations Meeting, last Summer( 2009 )and having had the
misfortune of dealing with multiple illnesses/surgerys/etc.,could not attend several
of the presentations, and either donated my tickets,to acquaintances (for my friends
had already pre purchased)or our seats were left unoccupied...Therefore it is
not in my best interest to participate at this time.. I do believe circumstances
such as I have described,or situations such as confinements ( at home, nursing
facilities etc.) automatically be given a refund...in addition, we too should be
offered the OPTION,of accepting the replacement talent, for a cancelled show,
or the return of our money....Either way, We PAY..

    I back you 100%.
    I believe that WPRF
is losing money because of the
    change of policy they
    now have. In the past
we were able to get a
    refund and I want to
    know why it was
    changed and many
    unit owners are
    telling me they will
    not buy season tickets
    because of the change.

  2. I bought tickets last year and received the worst seats in the house for all the shows I bought. Up front and on the very far side. I could not even get the tickets changed on the nights of the show even when there were lots of empty seats. If WPRF was an outside business with these practices they would not last long. They are in the driver's seat here and treat us very unfairly and there is nothing we can do. We pay for the shows one way or another even if the theater were empty we pay for all the tickets.

  3. I had an experience similar to Grace's: Our seats were reserved in the summer, in advance. Come October we find our seating is up front on extreme left, where it is hard to see the stage really well. Not a problem if by the luck of the draw we got those seats; that is, if all the better seats went to others. On the night of the performance, however, there were a LOT of empty seats in better locations. Were these all no-shows? If they were no-shows, I could understand, but there seemed to be far too many for this to be the case. It makes me think that those who are assigning the seats aren't doing a fair job of it. Am I wrong? Is there some factor I'm not taking into consideration?

  4. There is a Suggestion Box in the Ticket Office, suggestions ‘are delivered upstairs’ promptly every day, however, anonymous suggestions are ignored. I have to write a suggestion that they put the Name/Address/phone requirement on the Suggestion Box.

  5. Since my original post, I have
encounter several residents, who have had similiar experiences to
    those posted...many have stated
they will not participate in the
Pre purchase program..time shall tell...Once more I urge every
resident to attend as many committee meetings as possible....
They all are "OPEN", you will be
welcomed as a guest, and your concerns will be addressed....

  6. Since moving to CV in 2004 I have participated in the pre-pay program. Most of my seats have mainly been in Sections A & C; very rarely in the center. I think it should be first come first served. The computer doesn't seem to be doing a good job!

Another problem is that the sections are very wide and when I am sitting next to people with walkers I am concerned about exiting in an emergency without tripping over walkers and canes.

  7. Con.Unit Owner's last comment is of great concern..this is a issue
    that should be addressed..Assigning
a Particular portion of the Theatre
whether front or back, lower level,
    which would not encumber other
    Theatre patrons, having free access
or egress..It is not my intention
to deny anyone an evening's worth
    of pleasure, however, sitting mid
    row,with folded up walkers,next to
you, is not a very assuring thought
    for one's survival...
