UCO REPORTER

Dear fellow bloggers,

I have been told that the Reporter will not be out until the 27th of this month. is it my imagination ,or has it always come out around the 20th or 21st? because of this, two important issues were deleted from my column this month. on august 23rd there will be a meeting of the new one vote committee at UCO at 11am. on august 25 FP&L will be in room C at the clubhouse to help anyone that needs assistance in reducing their utility bill.

I may as well let you know that on september 24th the DMV will be in room C at the clubhouse and you can renew your drivers licence or get a Florida photo ID because who knows when that issue of the Reporter will come out.

  1. UCO Reporter schedule. After the Delegate Meeting there is one week of work on ads, and then one week work on articles, the printer then takes almost another week. Therefore when the Delegate Meeting is on the 6th of the month, delivery is likely on the 26th. In July mtg was 2nd, delivery was 22th. Currently there is a small staff, ½ of them are new, we could use a summer photographer, ad salesperson, several reporters/fact checkers, etc. There was one attempt to produce the paper in one week, it was not good. One ad or article can need many emails, faxes, questions, phone calls to resolve issues and make it acceptable, multiply that by a hundred or more. The volunteer staff have other random demands on their time, the printer also has restrictions. This is my opinion only, I was not at the Editorial Mtg where the delivery date was explained.

  2. I believe the targeted date for the September issue of the Reporter to be delivered to associations is August 26-27. We will try to see to it, Phyllis, that your notice about the Department of Motor Vehicles clubhouse visit on September 24, when one can renew his driver's license or get a Florida photo ID, goes in this issue.

  3. Hi Elaine,
Permit me to offer my thanks for the consistent efforts of yourself and other volunteers at the UCO Reporter. It is these same efforts by all volunteers that not only make us a family of sorts, but permit those with fixed incomes to be able to afford to live in this paradise. A steady increase of volunteer participation is required, and this will only be made possible by generating a welcoming atmosphere by all who presently offer their services to the rest.
