Dentists

Why is it that dentists today don't work on your teeth today, but use assistants?

  2. May I suggest that you change to a dentist that does not permit his dental assistant to practice dentistry without a license.

Unfortunately, my "physician" is a PA (Physician's Assistant) and I have never met the doctor who signs my prescriptions. Medical groups often use PA's to assist in their workload, so I know what you are saying. The other three physicians in the group require a one month waiting list to be seen personally!

  3. Hi all,
It turns out, that there is a broad range of Dental services that may legally be performed by Dental Hygienists, here in Florida and Nationally. See the following reference:

There are of course similar training and licensing standards for the Physicians assistant, Nurse practitioner...Etc.

  4. Having just visited my dentist, Dr. Sheldon Tager, Montreal, saxophonist as well I can attest that he does all his work. He took the XRays, cleaned and examined my teeth. The nurse holds the water squirter.
