EAST GATE

In the past when the green light would change to red the right lane would see
a green arrow to turn right on Haverhill as the cars on Haverhill are turning
left into CV. Today I noticed that there is no longer the green arrow. It has
disappeared. WHY???

  1. Hi Nutmegger,

At the time, were there any cars ON northbound Haverhill waiting to make the left turn into the Village? If not (I am guessing) no car would have tripped the sensor to activate the green left arrow into the Village. This may be tied in with the right green arrow (exiting the Village) you are speaking about. The right green arrow may be there because when northbound Haverhill traffic is making the left turn into the Village, there is no point in holding up our exiting southbound traffic. So traffic control gives them the green arrow.

If, at the time, cars WERE making the left turn into the Village, I would be as puzzled as you.

  2. If there were no cars making the left hand turn into the village then there was no green light as they are synronized together. I turned right yesterday on the green arrow when cars were turning into the village.
