ReplyDeleteAt the delegate mtg he said he would be looking for CVers who are fascinating, compelling, charismatic, controversial, opinionated, and poignant.
Can you contact Phyllis by email??
ReplyDeletehi, barbara, yes, my e-mail address is vicepresident4@gmail.com. the more the merrier. wouldn't it be great to get cv on the international map? what a way to advertize how terrific life is here.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is going to be interesting to see what comes of this project. Mr. Greenspan seemed to think he need go no further than our CV to find the five characters he wants. Too bad he didn't stay for the second half of the meeting. My guess is he'd have come to one of two conclusions, either "I'm washing my hands of this Village NOW!" or "Heh, heh, heh! This is EXACTLY what I'd hoped for. My advisers were right about this crowd."
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I say if this guy does this it will probably be a comedy and will not look favorably on CV or senior condo living in general. Jerry Seinfeld did a episode on senior living a couple of times in his hit TV show "Seinfeld". Granted, the episodes were hilarious, but at the expense of bringing out the truth about places like century Village! In the show Seinfeld, Jerry's parents lived in a retirement condo in Florida. Every so often Jerry would visit them from New York for a restful vacation or so he thought. In the episodes it depicted "constant" fighting with neighbors, people gathering votes to toss members off the board, and near fist fights at board meetings!! Sound familiar?? Unfortunatly, Seinfeld was spot on, but i wish this was not the case at Century Village. Do we really want another TV reality show in the Village? They are out to make fun of Senior living. To me we should all work on getting along better & making Seinfelds episodes fiction rather than fact..
