PETANQUE COURTS

Recently WPRF covered the petanque courts with builders sand. The construction guidelines from Petanque America suggest that the courts consist of 3 inches of crushed stone covered by 3 more inches of crushed granite.

These guidelines were given to WPRF several times prior to the covering the courts with the sand. The sand makes play very difficult and it is not very enjoyable. Last year, although the courts were in bad condition, the courts played better that they do now.

Please have someone fix the courts so that they can be play properly.

  1. Yes, I agree totally with the comment. As soon as we throw the pétanque ball it sinks in the sand...makes indentations ....we were told the sand would compact and harden..so far no good....we are continuously trying to smooth surface as we are playing...just an observation from a player...
