Computer Club Classes

I want to send out a reminder for members of the Computer Club - there will be 3 lectures/presentations on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 2:45PM.

"Using Microsoft Word Application to Create Publications" by Anitra Kraus

This presentation will be for those who would like to learn how to use MS Word's templates to create publications.

"Working with Windows 7 Files and Folders" by Lee Hunt

This presentation is for those who are not familiar with the new features of Windows 7 folders, and Libraries. I will cover the components of the folder window, basics of directory structure, how to find files and folders using file paths, use of the context menu and the many ways to use the tools - Cut, Copy, Move, Paste and Select All when working with files and folders.

"Fun with Dropbox" by Lee Hunt

This presentation will feature the very popular service called "Dropbox". This service allows users to
  1. Copy files and folders to several computers automatically. When pictures, videos or documents are added to Dropbox, it automatically adds those same items to all computers belonging to the user using the "cloud".
  2. Provides a free backup service of the user's files to the "Cloud" automatically.
  3. Allows sharing of files and folders across the Internet for easy access by friends, family or others that the user gives permission to see. This makes it easy to see movies, pictures and documents without the need to email attachments, many of which would normally be to large to send.
I will show you how to use the service to do all three.

I personally invite you to join Anitra and myself on Wednesday, March 7, at 2:45PM in the Computer Club classroom on the 2nd floor of the Main Clubhouse.  Remember, the presentations are for members only and are free. If a non-member would like to take advantage of these classes and lectures, you can become a member of the Computer Club. The dues are minimal and you can learn much from the classes, lectures, meet other computer users and have fun to boot! I hope to see you there!

  1. I just wanted to add that a misunderstanding has happened as the subject that I am planning for the computer club. I will be illustrating how Word can used as a publisher.

  2. Thanks Anitra. You should now see the change reflected in the post. Thanks for the clarification.

  3. My understanding is that All classes and lectures go through the computer club and not on the blog. They are never advertised by a new member only through Kathy who organizes all classes and lectures.
