C'mon Man!

-
The Royal Canadian Mint is in the news after revealing plans for a glow-in-the-dark quarter featuring an illuminated dinosaur skeleton.
When exposed to light, the quarter looks fairly ordinary, featuring the image of Queen Elizabeth on one side and an image of a dinosaur on the other. But take away the light and the quarter produces its own bright display, as the full-image of the Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai is replaced by a glowing visage of its skeleton. The 26-foot dinosaur was discovered in Canada in 1972.
Though as CNET reports, the image of Queen Elizabeth does not glow in the dark.

  1. I can't figure out which one is Queen Elizabeth, Elaine. Is it the one that DOESN'T seem illuminated? This is really not very flattering, Elaine. I think you--or perhaps I should say the Canadians--could have done better. After all, she has been a much loved and admired monarch for over 50 years.

  2. I read the news 3 times, I thought it had to be an April Fool story – but not. I bet they did not ask the Queen's permission. Now a source of endless bad jokes. The late nite guys have not noticed it yet.

  3. As I read it, one side has the Queen and the other the dinosaur is on the other. Canada can get it right!

  5. Thank you, Grace. I am feeling better. Whenever I am on the Blog, it's a sign I am feeling better. Especially if I make an attempt at some humor. We're all senior citizens, so at any time there's a good chance that any one of us is going through some physical difficulty. In other words, it's pretty safe to say to anyone in CV, "Are you feeling better now?"

How about you, Grace? Are you feeling better?

  6. Lanny, I am very happy that you are feeling better. I am feeling great!
Even when I am feeling not too great I tell myself how healthy I am and I am feeling great. If you say it enough the brain will register and pass it on.
