BE ON THE LOOK OUT

Be on the look out some one has been siphoning gas from our cars here in the village. I have talked to several people about this and they have had this happen to them too. I have not reported this to the police as of yet. I always keep my gas tank full to the top, and one day I noticed it was down, so I dismissed that thought and thought I must have made a mistake. But then I mentioned it to a few other people and they had the same misfortune. I hope this does not happen to you, so be on the look out !

  2. How can we catch the thief if people like you don't report the theft to the police. It is not different than a thief going into your home or unlocked car. Theft is theft. You are only abetting the thief instead of trying to catch the person. Hopefully you will call the police the next time it happens.

  5. I have small siphon device that I keep in the trunk of my car. A couple of years ago I tried to siphon some gas out of my own car for some reason––I forget what now. Try as I did with the siphon, and I had plenty of tubing, I couldn't get the gas to come out. I never could figure out why but assumed it must have to do with some configuration of the gas tank (I have a 2005 Camry). Or maybe the little pump wasn't strong enough to draw the gas up, though it was made for that purpose. Once the gas is up and running through the tube, as long as the outlet end is lower than the inlet end, the gas should flow out of its own accord. I am NOT the gas thief, by the way, any of you wiseacres.

  7. Yikes, I have done it again, haven't I, ruthchild. I am just UNTRUSTWORTHY on the blog...... I spill the beans on Bryna being president of Clarence's association, and now I describe how to siphon gas. This is called being a loose cannon. It's a wonder Dave lets me carry on.
