LAWYERS AND LAWSUITS AND MALCONTENTS - OH MY!!!

-
The recent meetings of the Malcontent Club have featured an Attorney presentation regarding suing ourselves for millions of dollars, over the paving project. They want a $10,000.00 retainer, plus $20,000.00 more for "expert testimony". The numbers get bigger and who is supposed to pay, you & i!
-
Pictures have been displayed, that prove that when it rains, some puddles appear which dry up in a day. Also there are some cracks in the pavement known as "Reflective Cracks" which is common in an asphalt overlay job.
-
It may interest all to know that we have an Engineers report that states that for the most part, the job meets acceptable standards.
Not perfect mind you - but meets acceptable standards.
-
So, what is this all about; I submit that this is an effort by a handful of Malcontents who can't get over failing in their effort to recall the UCO President, and then failing miserably in the March election.
One might think that they got the message, but apparently not!
-
So, rather than work cooperatively for the benefit of the Village, they run to the Courthouse. These people have done this before, at great financial detriment to the Residents to the tune of $700,000.00 that might have been captured in settlement but rather went into the pockets of Attorneys.
-
This law suit they are cooking up is patently frivolous, and will only make the Attorneys rich.
-
Most importantly, when they start making motions or begging at our meetings to put their hands into your pocket and mine to fund their unconstrained fantasies of financial paradise, don't fall for it, it is a snake oil salesman's  dream.

  1. Excellent points Dave. The three or four major malcontents (for which there is no hope for redemption) always seem to get a few more dumb stragglers in their corner.

  2. The plaintiffs and their public supporters, that is, those persons who have made public statements in support of this lawsuit, number about ten persons by my count.

According to today's announcement at the Delegate Assembly, the new lawyer needs thirty thousand dollars to get started.

If these people are so confident in the strength of their suit, let them come up with three thousand dollars each and give it to the lawyer. If they don't, that speaks volumes to me about how strong their case really is, and how right is their cause.

  3. Hi Don4060,
    May 2, 2014 at 5:32 PM,

Do not miss the great money beg at the very end under good and welfare, part three on the BLOG Post.

The epicenter of the suit quake is that everything will be covered by Insurance.

As though Insurance payments are free money.

I cannot imagine who would, buy this snake oil, and contribute moneys to sue themselves.

This whole affair is an incredible fiasco, launched by self-marginalized individuals whose lives are lived out in a continuous stream of Courtroom kabuki.

  4. The malcontents have LOST one time after another.

    1) They lost in their attempt to prevail on term limits.
    2) They lost OVERWHELMINGLY in their attempt to have Dave Israel removed as UCO president.
    3) They lost on the Dorothy Tetro issue.
    4) And they were absolutely ROUTED in the March elections.

Ask ourselves: Who has been getting things DONE while all this has been going on over the past months and years (not to mention while under the scourge of this negativity)? Who has been dealing with the Village problems as they constantly come up, and who has been proactively bringing us into the future, which with each passing day impinges more and more on our lives?

Not the malcontents--that is plain to see. I am hard pressed to think of a single thing they have done to HELP.

Give me the sturdy blacksmith named Israel any day. Give me the non-stopping farrier, thrusting the iron into the fire, hammering it out and shaping the shoes for the horses. Give me him any day over the mutterers and complainers and architects of lawsuits.

  6. This lawsuit is a no win situation. They want money from us to sue ourselves. The only winner here is the lawyer. Of course he said he could win. We will end up paying to defend ourselves and then should we lose it will be very hard to find an insurance to cover us. Should our insurance company still want to cover us they will hike our premiums so high they will get their money back from us and we will end up paying more for insurance. The winners here are the lawyers.
