NEW SIGN APPROVED BY BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE

-
Here is a proposed new sign for our Okeechobee entrance. This is a drawing by UCO VP Dom Guarnagia.
-
-
Congratulations to the Beautification Committee for accepting this design for replacing the Okeechobee sign to our Village.
-
It is important to know that much of the cost of the new sign involves complying with the County and State regulations concerning substructures, permits, and inspections dealing with hurricane standards.
-
This project will now go to the Bid Committee.
-
Your comments would be greatly appreciated on this design.

  1. One question: how long will it take to fix when someone knocks a big hole in it??

  2. Very nice touch having the statue of a man to the side, too. Let's you know there are real people--well-dressed at that--in the Village.

  3. The sign looks nice, but as Bid Committee, Chair I want you all to know we only received ONE bid. It seems we could have gotten more than one bid in all of palm beach county?

  4. To BC: This place is not known for being easy to work with.

  5. Lanny, comment well taken. Much better than a picture of one of our residents walking, running, or bicycling without a shirt. Not pretty pictures.

  6. I think the man is there to give some idea of the height of the sign.

  7. Some numerical dimensions would be helpful rather than average man?. Code allows the maximum height of the sign to be 8 feet (code language height = top of lettering ULDC 8.G.2.C.) I thought we wanted the sign lettering as high as possible.

  8. Agreed, ruthphild, and better than someone chasing a purple Muscovy duck around with his shotgun.

  9. Looks great and when & if we get the waterfall, it would have the appearance that this is an upscale community. Great rendering Don, I also noticed that it was done 6 months ago.

  10. Yes Ken, a look like an upscale community would be nice. BUT, can we FIX the hole in the Haverhill Wall too?!?

  11. The current sign is too far back. It is very difficult to see from Okeechobee
