Comcast has to go

This mornings internet outage convinces me even more that comcast has to go. along with billing issues.


  1. Does anyone know how to get rid of error 14 on Xfinity on Demand channel 1. I have phoned Comcast every day for a week, have rebooted, pulled plugs, pinged, etc. Still not fixed, cust svc seems helpless. I am homebound this week.

    1. Hi Elaine,
      The following from the Xfinity Forum:

      Error 14 on demand apparently means that the box is receiving a SLIGHTLY weak signal. The signal was strong enough to still get through in High Definition but not strong enough to enable OnDemand. Traced a section of cabling from a splitter to the box and found a lack of continuity in the shielding. Replaced that section with a new one that was good both in the shielding and the center wire. OnDemand works extremely well.

    2. Thank you Dave, you did better than 9 different cust svc people. Strangely enuf, Error 14 departed an hour ago, just as a Tech was arriving, after 10 days of total frustration and calls to 9 different cust svc people. Oh Comcast.
