Good idea to make it easy for ANYONE to subscribe for up-to-the-minute updates on what is happening in the Village. All you need is a computer. The videos of meetings are great, but they cover only meetings, and to review what happened at a meeting, you must spend as much time watching the video as if you had attended the meeting, which we don't all have time for. With the Information Forward Initiatives you get many things, including interesting weekly reports by Donald Foster, our CAM. Moreover, armed with these updates by the CAM, just think—you can correct all the false information propagated at the pools!
ReplyDeleteAlso, someone needs to come up with a simpler name for these notifications. I never can remember "Information Forward Initiatives." Were you thinking you were still at the NSA, working for the government, when you named it this, Dave? Why don't you give a prize for the person coming up with the best simple name we can all REMEMBER? (No, I don't have any bright ideas for a name right now.)
It's great receiving information in your email. I especially like receiving the CAM report. It is nice that the CAM report includes pictures so you can see exactly where the repairs and improvements are made in the village. Don Foster is all over the place.
ReplyDeleteHow about "The Latest Buzz"? Or "CV Buzz"? "CV Doings" perhaps? Or maybe the "What's Up, Doc?" column. Shall I keep thinking or would you rather I didn't?
ReplyDeleteHi Lanny,
ReplyDeleteHow about IFI?
Dave
or CV Information, or CV Information Service, why be cute and confusing.
ReplyDeleteIFI? Possible, but I'm not too fond of it. It's a sneaky way, of course, to retain "Information Forward Initiative." In accordance with Elaine's "why be cute and confusing?" why not simply "CV News"? Or perhaps, as some deference is probably due the author of the project, "IFI News." Would that sell? What do you think, Cathy? You're the sensible one among us.
ReplyDeleteSince there are other Century Villages, let's call it CVWP News.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, Cathy! Yours has my vote.
