VOLUNTEER HELP BADLY NEEDED?

THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT USING OUR RENTERS AND PAYING THE EXTRA FOR INSURANCE.

That's what I wish we could do. At the Reporter we are only one place in the Village where we could use more volunteer help. We have lost SEVERAL very helpful, good volunteers over the past few years because they were renters and it was discovered our insurance didn't cover renters. At least that's how I understand it.

Can't something be done about this? Just how much would it cost us to cover renters? Is it really out of the question? Think about how many renters there are. Are perhaps a third of our residents renters, or even a quarter? One fourth of (say) 10,000  residents is 2500 persons. Seems we could get some badly needed volunteer help from that big a pool—especially if people were notified of this. I wish (if it hasn't) that this would be looked into seriously for the benefit we might obtain from it. It would make for some happy campers in not only some of our organizations, but among the volunteer renters themselves.
