A request for information: FPL has mailed me, and probably everyone in Century Village, this offer:
ElectricShield®
Repair or replacement of your home's electrical system could cost hundreds of dollars. ElectricShield® offers coverage if you need to repair or replace your home's electrical wiring, outlets, switches, dimmers, circuit breakers, electric panel and more for failure due to normal wear and tear.
Electrical Wiring Protection
Benefits of ElectricShield
Friendly, expert service from our in-house team of licensed and insured electricians
Your home's electrical system repaired or replaced, up to $1,000 a year
No deductibles or co-payments
15% discount on labor portion of upgrades and/or improvements
One-year workmanship warranty
No minimum contract term — cancel at anytime
For only $9.95per month
added to your FPL bill
My question: Re electrical wiring: What does our monthly COA fee cover and not not cover? To what extent is the above redundant?
Thanks for any information.

Hi Old Nassau,
ReplyDeleteCan you please bring the letter, including the envelope to UCO?
Thanks,
Dave Israel
This is a ripoff along with whole house surge protectors. Ask yourself how many times have you needed electrical syastem tepairs?
ReplyDeleteThanks. That's what I figured. And a $1000 limit isn't very much. Offer seems more like a foot in the door, after which estimates and charges can be adjusted.
