Where is the respect and equity ?

The list of countless TV stations has been published by Atlantic Broadband for Century Village. While there are Europeen and South American stations there are no Canadian stations. Representations could have been made. AB is an American Company and a subsidiary of Cogeco Communications, an American Company and a subsidiary of Cogeco Cable, a Canadian Company.

Canadians in Century Village spend close to 2 million dollars a year in condo fees. While we may not be physically present twelve months a year, our money is. We are now asked to pay more for a discriminal service. We are good and tolerant neighbours but there is an obvious lack of respect and fairness in this deal.  Andre Legault

  1. Hi Andre and all of our welcome Canadian Residents,

I must first make it clear, as principle UCO negotiator of the AB contract, that no discrimination or disrespect was intended. We on the Committee were advised that TV5Monde, which is included in our lineup, is broadcast from Quebec and is presented in French, and was in fact a Canadian channel. Not a single Canadian voice was raised at any of these meetings in contradiction of this belief. Now it would appear that this Quebec broadcast is a patch through from France, and thus does not qualify as a Canadian channel; a bit late to raise this not so subtle point!

Ok, mea-culpa, mea-culpa, mea maxima culpa!

Andre, give me a few channels that would qualify, and we will work the problem with Atlantic Broadband.

  2. Hello David. Thank you for your constructive response. Allow me to suggest 3 stations:
TVA which is a subsidiary of Quebecor Media; Radio Canada TV (the French Canadian Network) and CBC( the English Canadian Network.
