Hello All-

It is almost the weekend,  Just a few more hours to happy hour time!  Anyone know any CV gossip?

I may be a tad early, but who is running this year for President?   I am wondering if Mr. Israel is going to toss his hat in the ring??  I think he may like cats, so he is my man!

This is Tom the cat of "Tom and Jerry" fame. The candidate is definitely a cat lover.

  2. Hi Felix! Funny, my brother Spot mentioned the upcoming election the other day. He said he understood Dave Israel was running for a sixth term as UCO president. Spot thinks this is a good thing. He says we will need Dave's years of experience in finalizing the revision of the UCO bylaws and undertaking whatever we're doing about the renewal of the Millennium Agreement, which expires very soon. Fortunately for you, Felix, Dave IS a "cat man." As I see it, it's almost his only failing. It's well known, after all, that "dogs rule while cats drool."

  3. WHAT?! You've got that backwards, Chip. It's "dogs drool and cats are Kool." And I do think Dave's a pretty Kool cat. Consider the many innovations he has brought to this old Century Village. Right from the get-go when he was elected UCO president almost ten years ago, he was putting his technical know-how to work.

You know, you have a point, my feline friend. Didn't a lot of his innovations begin with this very blog? If I remember correctly, Dave began this blog even before he became UCO president. He wanted it to be a vehicle for transmitting information helpful to his fellow Villagers, where the participants could ask and discuss questions in a civil manner. It was also a DAILY (even hourly if you wished) means of communication, unlike the UCO Reporter, which was published monthly. I don't know if he envisioned animals participating back then, though….

  5. Animal???? I am NOT an animal, I am a member of a family. You my friend, go to the potty outside in the street! So unsophisticated.

As a means of communication, the blog is full of information for every person living in the village. Snowbirds can keep up on events and happenings by viewing meetings. As Dave reminds us, his legacy is built on transparency. By having an electronic footprint of the meetings, residents can refer back to important votes taken at the delegate meetings and be up to date on the budget considerations.

One thing that needs to be added is "Pets of CV". Naturally, I would be featured first!

(Good grief, that cat is so sensitive...) So, little tabby, you’ve come out from under the bed now that Hurricane Darian is mostly gone! I should say you ARE one of the family, even, it seems to be "sharing the same bed"—from below rather than above. Spot (I quote him because he knows more about the Village than I do) says you're right about the transparency Dave has brought to us. Spot was telling me as Hurricane Darien threatened us over the past several days how Dave and the CAM have put out notices, one after another on the blog. Kept us right up to the moment on the Clubhouse and Hastings gym closures, dumpster collection, the Village access gates being kept open, and Seacrest clean-up. We escaped a bullet, didn't we?
