Hi Marc,
DeleteHere is the statute on video recording:
…………………………………………………………………………………………..……………….
Marc, Section 163.31802 FS states:
“Prohibited standards for security devices.—A county, municipality, or other entity of local government may not adopt or maintain in effect an ordinance or rule that establishes standards for security cameras that require a lawful business to expend funds to enhance the services or functions provided by local government unless specifically provided by general law. Nothing in this section shall be construed to limit the ability of a county, municipality, airport, seaport, or other local governmental entity to adopt standards for security cameras in publicly operated facilities, including standards for private businesses operating within such public facilities pursuant to a lease or other contractual arrangement.”
Section 810.145 “voyeurism” prohibits cameras in private dressing rooms and bathrooms. Also Florida law prohibits the recording of voice conversations unless all parties to the conversation approve the recording. Thus your security cameras may want to exclude voice or sound. If the security cameras view your neighbor’s property you will need the neighbors permission.
