On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the expansion of the state’s partnership with Publix to establish COVID-19 vaccination sites at select Publix locations in Palm Beach County.
-
On January 19, Governor DeSantis announced that vaccines for persons over 65 years of age would be made available at all Publix locations in West Palm Beach. Vaccinations at Publix will be by appointment only, via the following Internet webpage: www.publix.com/covid-vaccine/
CV residents who received their first shot CV Clubhouse should be aware that the Moderna vaccine will be dispensed at Publix, not the Pfizer vaccine that was dispensed at the Clubhouse. If you got your first shot at the Clubhouse, go to the Clubhouse for your second shot, and no place else.
-
Can I schedule a COVID-19 vaccine by phone?
Vaccinations are scheduled by online appointment only. Eligible individuals must make an appointment online by using the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine.
Can I get on a waiting list or be notified when more COVID-19 vaccine is available at Publix Pharmacy?
We are unable to provide email notifications regarding vaccine availability at this time, although we are looking at this option for the future. Please continue to check the COVID-19 Vaccine page for updates regarding email notification availability.
How do I schedule my second dose?
Subject to availability. You will have a second dose available at the same Publix Pharmacy exactly 28 days following your first appointment. Your appointment day and time will match the appointment when you received the first dose. For example, if your first appointment was January 12 at 11 a.m., then your second appointment will be on February 9 at 11 a.m. You will also receive a notification about one week prior to your second appointment.
How do I cancel a scheduled appointment?
There's no need to cancel appointments at this time. Simply do not arrive for your scheduled appointment.
Can I transfer a scheduled appointment to another eligible individual?
Appointments cannot be transferred to other individuals. If you are no longer in need of the appointment, simply do not arrive. Cancellations are not necessary.
What type of COVID-19 vaccine does Publix administer?
Publix provides the Moderna vaccine for both doses.
Will I be able to schedule my second dose at a different pharmacy than where I received the first dose?
If you need to receive your second dose at a different location than the first, you will need to wait until the digital reservation system is open again to schedule another appointment. If you do so, there is no need to cancel your original second dose appointment.
Why should I get the vaccine?
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), getting the COVID-19 vaccine is a better way to build protection, and it will help you avoid getting COVID-19. Visit the CDC's website for more information.
Do I still need to practice social distancing and wear a mask if I receive the vaccine?
According to the CDC, yes, you should still wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands frequently even if you receive the vaccine.
I already had COVID-19 and recovered. Will the vaccine provide any benefit to me?
Yes. The CDC recommends you still receive the vaccine. For more information regarding your health, please talk to your primary care physician.
What are the most common side effects?
Some common side effects at the injection site include soreness, redness, or warmth to the touch. Some people report chills, fatigue, headache, or fever after getting the vaccine, especially the second dose. For more details about side effects of the vaccines approved for emergency use, visit the CDC's website.
How can I report any severe side effects or issues that I have?
Upon receiving the vaccine, you will be given information about where to report adverse effects, including the CDC’s new V-safe system. For details about the CDC's V-safe program, visit the CDC's website. You can also complete a Vaccine Adverse Event Report System (VAERS) report online. For details and to make a report, visit the VAERS website.
If you experience a severe allergic reaction, the FDA recommends you call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
Can I get COVID-19 from the vaccine?
According to the CDC, you cannot get COVID-19 from the mRNA vaccines currently authorized for use in the United States.

REGISTRATION AT CONGREGATION ANSHEI SHOLOM IS NOW CLOSED.
Covid Vaccine.
Just returned from receiving my shot. Again I must thank all the volunteers, the nurses and the National Guard. I was amazed at how smoothly it went. I had an11 a.m. appointment and including waiting 15 minutes (to make sure you didn't have an immediate reaction) I was home a few minutes after 12 pm.! Marvelous coordination.
DRIVE THROUGH REGISTRATION FOR COVID-19 VACCINATIONS WILL CONTINUE AT CONGREGATION ANSHEI SHOLOM TOMORROW, 1/14/21, FROM 8:00 AM UNTIL 5:00 PM, OR UNTIL SUPPLY IS EXHAUSTED.
DRIVE THROUGH REGISTRATION FOR COVID-19 VACCINATIONS WILL CONTINUE AT CONGREGATION ANSHEI SHOLOM TOMORROW, 1/13/21, AND THEREAFTER UNTIL ALL DOSES ARE ACCOUNTED FOR. FROM 8:00 AM UNTIL 5:00 PM.
THERE ARE LESS THAN 250 REGISTRATIONS LEFT.
-
What is the logic of closing the pickleball courts, Paddleball ,Petanque, Bocci and sailing during the vaccination? This is the only recreation available and to close it for a week is outrageous.
I hope the management would reconsider.
Thank you

Registration for the Vaccine
I could not believe how smoothly the registration went this morning. It was handled extremely well by the volunteers. I got in line at 6 a.m. and was registered by 8.10 a.m.! Again kudos to all the people who were involved.

Following is the current state of knowledge:
-
Once again the State of Florida has named CV-WPB as a Point of Distribution (POD) for COVID-19 vaccine. Please be advised that this is subject to change.
-
- Registration for vaccinations will happen on Monday and Tuesday, 1/11 and 1/12.
- Registrants will be vetted for age and residency, then be given a date/time stamped questionnaire from FL Department of Health. The date/time stamp will be their appointment for vaccination later in the week.
- Location for registration will likely be in the Hastings section of CV, either at the Fitness Center or Synagogue, possibly both.
- We are working toward a drive through registration, rather than a stand up line, but that may change. We will work on a traffic flow plan later today, with emphasis on keeping the ring roads and entrance roads clear.
- Vaccinations will begin on Wednesday, 1/13/21, at 8:00 AM.
- Location for vaccinations will be the Century Village Main Clubhouse. We do not expect to see line ups at the Clubhouse, since the vaccinations will be by appointment only. Monday and Tuesday will be the line up days, requiring appropriate traffic control.
- We are expecting an allocation of 3000 doses, distributed 500 per day, over six days.
As more information becomes available, and as plans solidify, We will send it out.

Does CV still have AMR or similar non-emergency transport, I have not seen info this year, is there a flyer somewhere? My corner of CV is suddenly doing more business with hospitals. Thank goodness for 911.
