This email provides instructions for property managers and homeowners associations with the responsibility of managing emergency operable discharge control structures. You are receiving this email because you are the designated flood control/drainage contact for your community or business, or have expressed an interest in your community's flood control operations. Current Conditions:
LWDD is closely monitoring Tropical Depression 9. Southeastern Palm Beach County could experience 4 inches of rainfall with a local maximum up to 9 inches this Monday through Wednesday. LWDD operations staff began preparing our canal system for forecasted rainfall. As the system approaches, LWDD will continue to lower canal stages.
Instructions:
Community operable discharge control structures should remain closed. Authorizations to open an internal control structure may be given if conditions change. Note, operable discharge control structures have a passive outfall that provides drainage even in the closed position.

Check storm drains and swale areas and clear any debris that may slow or block the flow of water away from homes.

Visit our website for more information on community storm response at https://www.lwdd.net/storm-response
More Information:
With rainfall projections in this range, we are expected to experience isolated areas of street and parking lot flooding along with shallow ponding in low lying areas. Community stormwater ponds, swales and other drainage features will likely be near capacity because of this event.

Do not drive or walk-through flooded streets. Monitor local news for updates.
