WHERE ARE YOU??????????

WHERE ARE YOU??????????

At times all of us criticize and have complaints about what goes on in the Village as a result of the Officers and Executive Board motions and activities. Here is your opportunity to help change and be a part of what occurs:

But you have to RUN FOR OFFICE.

Its time you ACT...... Write a bio giving a short history of what you've done before coming to CV and what you have done since living here in Paradise:

1) You must live here a minimum of nine months out of the year,
2) You must be a member of UCO,.
3) And if running for the Executive Board volunteer to serve on two committees.

Bring the bio stating what you are running for, along with a picture, into the UCO office. A form affirming the requirements is at the office for you to sign.

All positions except two vice presidents are open for a new candidate. Those are the president, two vice presidents, two secretaries, the treasurer and the entire executive board.

Do not wait to the last minute to get your bio into the office.

DO IT NOW AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL

  1. Hi Roberta,
I would like to suggest an additional Question be added to the form:

"Have you ever been convicted of a Criminal Offense in any Court; if the answer is yes please explain in full."

  2. Dave,
Don't know if that would be legally or ethically proper. Good point though. It's my understanding that anyone indicted with a crime, cannot own property here if the penalty has not been satisfied. If the penalty has been satisfied, then we cannot stop him from owning an apartment. Therefore, he'd be a member of UCO and eligible to run. This came up a few years ago when there was discussion about letting pedaphiles live here. Also are we not invading a persons privacy? Not sure about that one.

  3. Hi Roberta,
There are FS 718 issues about persons convicted of a crime serving on an Association Board ,if their Civil rights have not been restored.

A criminal conviction may certainly be factored into a Board decision as to approve for ownership and occupancy. It is not clear how far you would get if the individual challenged a decision so arrived at.

There is no privacy issue, if the individual releases information concerning him/herself. Such a person has waived the right by so revealing.

I think our unit owners have a right to know the criminal history of those seeking their vote.

  4. In agreement with both Dave's and
    Randall's statement.....
    In addition, will the candidates
    be listed in "Alphabetical" order
under the Office, they are running
    for on the ballot?

  5. The candidates are listed in alphabetical order when in the REPORTER. It does not matter when it was submitted because they all make the deadline.

  6. My question had NOTHING TO DO
WITH WHEN THE SUBMISSION WAS MADE...only if the CANDIDATES NAMES
    WOULD APPEAR IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER
UNDER THE OFFICE THEY ARE RUNNING
FOR, ON THE BALLOT! IF YES, NO
    FURTHER RESPONSE IS NECESSARY...
IF NO, THEN AN EXPLANATION PLEASE..

  7. Trust me on this one: All names will appear in alphabetical order under the office in question.
