Down the Road

Survey in the January UCO Reporter asks if you would like an excursion bus to go to museums or special events. Now the last line does say “Would you be willing/able to pay fee?” How many yes votes will that get!!
With all due respect to kind-hearted people here, are no-fee trips taking us down the road to assisted living?

  1. We pay enough for the buses. If enough people want to go to the museums or special events, I call it scheduling.

  2. I'm kind of sticking my neck out here, because I've never, even once, ridden on a CV bus. (I know, I know, I should try it. You're right.) Has anyone been to the exhibit of 40 Norman Rockwell oil paintings at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art? Did you think it worth seeing? A notice in the paper says "an unusually honest selection that shows his LIMITATIONS [my emphasis]." It's there till Feb. 7. If really worth seeing, this might make a nice bus excursion for some CV folk who don't have a car, even if a modest fee were charged. Maybe it could be arranged for one of the museum docents to tour-guide the group.
