Amato Ads- UCO Reporter

I realize the Reporter is in business to make MONEY....does that mean accepting
multiple ads from the same individual who is attempting to " Educate " the public
on the why's and wherefore's? Perhaps the next edition, should be entirely devoted
to PAID POLITICAL POSTINGS.....IN THIS CASE, AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS PROFITED HANDSOMELY
FROM THIS COMMUNITY, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME, PUTTING MANY AT RISK....
How many other do-gooders, do we have amongst us?

  1. One of Mr. Amato's latest ads says that every UCO member should take a lie detector test with one of the questions being "Did you steer business to any company and take kickback money?" I am an association president in the Village, and once I was offered what I believe would be called a kickback. I wanted a new hot water heater installed and called one of the companies that advertised in the Village paper. This company was advertising tankless hot water heaters at the time. They have since stopped advertising the tankless heaters, I notice, but boy were they pushing them back then.

They installed a tankless heater. In the process, the boss said he would give me $50 for every owner in our association I steered his way, which resulted in a sale. I declined the offer. The tankless heater delivered only lukewarm water, so I had him take it out and replace it with a regular 30-gallon heater, which has worked fine. I have a receipt for the transaction showing "tankless" with its price crossed out and the price for the 30-gallon tank replacing it.

The company was The Construction Guys, and the boss who offered me the $50 was Peter Amato. I wonder if he remembers this incident. If so, maybe he should be the first to step up and take a lie detector test.

  2. Hi Lanny. I assume your building does not allow tankless water heaters anymore due to the fact they do not meet PBC electrical code, and can cause fires (see the PBC letter in the current UCO Reporter).

  3. To Plcruise: I don't believe anyone in our buildings has a tankless. Our annual meeting is next Sat. and, thanks to your reminder, I will tell the people re our electric not being adequate and it being a fire hazard. I may also mention it in a future letter to all owners. (I send owners 2-3 letters a year.) When Amato installed my tankless (which I made him take out), he put in a higher capacity electric line between the panel and the water heater. He did NOT, however, put in a higher capacity line TO the panel. If I recall correctly, I asked him about this, and he said it wasn't needed. I could be wrong about asking him this, though. I am NOT wrong about his offering a $50 "kickback."

  4. Looks like Mr. Amato doesn't CARE about our safety only his business.

  5. Hopefully many more unit owners'
will post their experiences, so that the respective associations,
can advise their delegates to cast
their ballots for the only individual,( in the Presidential race ) who neither recommends or has ties to any profit making venture. As for VP's, we all know
who has devoted ALL OF HIS TIME,
to improving the Quality of Life
    for all,again, without specific
    recommendations, or ties ( as
described above)for the past 2 yrs.
and should be re-elected for another term to continue the work
    he has begun..
