Robocalls

My lovely Sunday evening was interrupted by an automated phone call from a politician. It was targeted to Century Village, a Tuesday campaign lunch at the Clubhouse. How much does this call cost the campaign? I do not belong to any club, how did they get my name and phone number. Does voter registration give away our names? How labor intensive is it to add phone numbers and program them? Might they have phoned invitations to people outside the village to this lunch?
How many sandwiches would it take to offset my annoyance at the phone call!

"Wiki - Robocalls are made by all political parties in the United States, as well as unaffiliated campaigns, 527 organizations, Unions, and individual citizens. Political robocalls are exempt from the United States National Do Not Call Registry. FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. However, political groups are excluded from the FTC definition of telemarketer, thus robocalls from or on behalf of political organizations are still permitted on the federal level."

  1. Sandwiches? Heck for disturbing your sunday evening, the least the lunch should offer is a lovely cold lobster salad and a tiramisu dessert.

  2. I just found out!! It's Wexler (From Maryland) bringing Deutch who is running for Wexler's FL. seat. What has Wexler ever done for CV WPB? If Wexler is supporting Duetch, don't expect any change. Go eat his food and vote for someone else.

  3. Robert Wexler helped me when Katrina canceled my becoming an American. My Green Card ran out and I needed to go to Canada in an emergency. He made sure that I could get back into the country.

  4. Glad he helped someone in CV but I'm talking about CV as a whole.
