President's 1st Priority Meeting

I went to the meeting that George L. had for self proclaimed, abused 1st Priority customers . Atty. Tennyson basically said that if your Association signed a contract with 1st Priority you are helpless because of the Fl. Law allowing this debacle. 1st Priority blamed all delays on the Palm Beach Ct Permit office and 1st Priority holds itself blameless in any CV unit owners or renters inconvenience, homelessness or financial distress.
Would someone tell me how CV was so lucky to come by 1st Priority ???

Mr Gladstone was not in attendance at this heart wrenching meeting , his absence might speak volumes about where his allegiance lies.

  1. Hello all,
I'm sorry I missed the meeting today. I am out of town on business and couldn't be back in time. Based on what I've heard about today's meeting at the clubhouse - once again, If you fall into any one or more of the following categories, I urge you to attend our "Victims' Rights Group" meeting February 22, 2010, at 10AM, in the Party Room of the Main Clubhouse:

    1. Anyone who has had any negative dealings with anyone from 1st Priority/MC Enterprises,

    2. Anyone who, even if they didn't use 1st Priority, has been pressured in any way to try to sign a contract with 1st Priority by someone from that company or the UCO Insurance Advisor,

    3. Anyone who has had negative dealings with UCO insurance advisor Dan Gladstone,

    4. Anyone who has had negative dealings with any public adjuster who has refused to give you or your president any insurance proceeds as a result of a casualty claim but instead gave the check to a contractor,

    5. Anyone from UCO who has made no attempt to assist you when asked after explaining your casualty problems.

At the meeting on the 22nd, we will discuss how we can help each other to resolve these ongoing contractor / insurance / personnel issues. You are going to need to prove that you have been damaged.

In order to do this, we are going to compile all of the claims brought before us and organize them in a way that will allow us to move forward towards resolution. This path forward will take many forms. So please come to the meeting prepared.

This is how to prepare. Prior to the meeting, please gather all of the documentation you have on each claim, including copies of contracts, memos for record, permits, licenses, scope of work, credentials of the contractors, records of payments from insurance companies as well as who the payments were made to, any adjuster's reports and statements, and anything else you have regarding the claims. Also, prepare a letter detailing exactly what happened from the day of the incident to present, including conversations between you and any other people involved in either helping or hurting your efforts to complete the jobs. Also, prepare a timeline of the claim. In other words, begin with the the date the casualty ocurred, followed by the date someone was first called, any subsequent calls, when they first responded, when they first arrived to sign contract, the date they started work, when they were last there to do any work, how long it has been since they were back, etc. etc. I think you get the picture. Be very specific when writing about who said what to whom. These statements will be crucial in presenting the claims as we move forward.

If you need help in making copies, just let us know.

Those of you reading this on the blog who know of others who don't have access to a computer and can't read this, please print this text out on your printer, make copies, and pass them to all others who need them. I'm sure they will appreciate your efforts on their behalf.

I know this sounds like a lot of work, and it is, but just ask yourself one question? Is it worth it to do this one time in order to get your home back in one piece?

If you have questions about the upcoming meeting on Feb 22nd @ 10AM in the Party Room of the Main Clubhouse or need help in gathering the information, please feel free to call Jean @ 561-640-7606 or myself, Lee, @ 561-202-8460.

  2. To our friends in CV who have been victims and felt they were not represented at today's meeting with UCO, I say to you: Don't let today's meeting deter you in the least. Use it as a learning experience. Take advantage of what you learned today to help us even more to further our cause of forcing these people to finish the work they contracted to do.

Just remember, talk is cheap and meaningless unless you can back up what you say. For example, meaningless rhetoric like, "I am the victim!" and, "Everyone else is lying, not me!" is worthless without the ability to prove it. One can spew that they are victims until they are blue in the face. Evidence and proof of wrong-doing speaks much louder than words ever could! That is what we intend to prove.

If you have questions about the upcoming "Victims' Rights Group" meeting on Feb 22nd @ 10AM in the Party Room of the Main Clubhouse or need help in gathering information in preparation for the meeting, please feel free to call Jean @ 561-640-7606 or myself, Lee, @ 561-202-8460.

  3. Mike:

    At our last delegate meeting
when GL stated he would have
    a meeting with Atty. Tennyson
    he also stated that the
    meeting would be shown on
    channel 63. I think everyone
    would appreciate if you find
out when it will be on channel63
to let us know on this blog
the date it will be on.
I give you my sincere thanks
    for attending this meeting.

  6. Hi Nut,
    February 11, 2010 9:24 PM,

I saw no video camera, so I doubt that the meeting was recorded.

  7. When GL stated that the open meeting with Rod (an in attendance, UCO, 1st priority, and 'victims' of repairs after casualty) would be recorded for presentation on Channel 63, he mispoke. If the subject of recording this meeting was presented to Rod, I'm certain that he would have advised against it as such recording could possibly provide evidence of culpability on UCO's (and/or 1st Priority's)part.
This opinion, of course, is not to be construed as a legal opinion.

  8. Well that about sums it up Randall!!!

God forbid, 1st Priority or UCO might be held accountable for the mess they have created.

  9. Hi Sue,
As you know, at the December 16th meeting of the Insurance Committee, my suggestion of an oversight sub-committee of the Insurance Committee to monitor the progress (or lack of it) on units which are repaired after casualty through UCO efforts, was indeed a reasonable one.

It's been about two months since I openly expressed my concern for those numerous displaced residents. I would have been quite pleased to lend my services to such an effort should it had been recognized at the time as a reasonable and necessary effort. Unfortunately, at this late stage of the game, 'damage control' has apparently taken precedence over 'monitoring', though I'm sure the latter function will be included as part of the investigation process.

I imagine (and hope) that Rod Tennyson, UCO's attorney, will be asked to jump into this fiasco with both feet, sorting out legitimate delays due to the permit/inspection process, from unreasonable delays, and to assist in sorting out other related matters. This effort alone would require extensive research on each and every insurance claim in the past year that involved 1st Priority. It is UCO's responsibility and moral obligation to assist in the return of displaced residents to their homes as soon as possible and to get to the truth of this matter as accurately as can be determined. That's just my opinion as a fellow resident and a UCO member.

  10. I fully agree Randall. UCO has some responsibility in this mess as one of its members went around using his position to get people to use 1st Priority.

  11. UCO is thoroughly in the insurance business. My Assoc Proof of Property Insurance reads Insured : United Civic Organization, Inc, 2102 West Dr ...

At every Delegate Mtg Mr Gladstone says, CALL ME, CALL ME. The same is heard in UCO, especially at reception, also in the UCO Reporter. "Call Mr. G".
Has anyone ever heard "Call the Insurance agent at Plastridge". Note there is a Building Assoc Insurance link to Plastridge on this site sidebar.

Prez Loewenstein recently said he changed Mr G's instructions in November (to 3 recommendations), so we know who is in control. I was surprised at that since 2 months ago at the Dec 16 Insurance Cmte meeting Mr. G was still boosting 1st P and the cmte began to think of changing to 3recommendations. I tried to raise one instance of the 1st Priority pressure tactics that we now know so much about. I was thoroughly shut down (my angry blog about being shut down got me law suit threats). I did not know the problems were so widespread. It is very sad that such issues have to go thru what appears to be a total cover up phase.

Listen to the victims - When there was a water leak Mr. G was there in a flash with 1st Priority, demanding the assoc president sign the contract and the building deductible check, usually $5K, all in the name of UCO.

  12. Perhaps someone could refresh my
memory, with regard to the date of
the Specific Delegate's Assembly Meeting's approval of the inclusion
of UCO's name, in our Association's
    Insurance Policies...Thanks..
