Bicycle storage question

Can anyone tell me if it is against Fire Dept. regulations to store a bicycle under the stairs without being locked or chained? Would appreciate any info.

    Hi Dave,
    The by-laws state that it is an unencumbered area and is to be used only for ingress and egress to the premises

    We have a bike or two UNDER the stairs (not blocking any pathways) and it seems to work fine. Don't know what PBC Fire says about that (if anything).
