  1. Phyllis

The delegates who voted for you
made a smart, wise and intelligent
decision in voting you as VP.
You will continue what you have
    accomplished in the past and
I know you will continue to make
CV very proud to have voted
    for you.

  5. Hi Norma,
    April 10, 2010 10:21 AM,

My Administration must walk a well considered line which might be described as "middle of the road".

If I cut off dissent, I am painted as an autocrat. Thus I think we must allow those with differing opinions the right to speak.

I think some of the dissenting speakers who go "overboard" lose credibility in the eyes of the Delegates; and we saw the displeasure of the Delegates surface when they, in no uncertain terms, told one speaker to sit down.

I will make every effort to run a democratic meeting and will try to modulate the level of negativism and minimize it's effect.

  7. David, I can only echo what Tropworld1 said to you: "Well done!"

I too am glad Phyllis Richland was voted in as vice president to fill your vacancy. I sat next to Phyllis at the meeting. It was NOT EASY for this sensitive woman to listen to all the bashing, but she held it in, and then, thankfully, the vote went her way. One man who got up in her defense said that changing one's mind about something isn't necessarily a sign of weakness; it can be a sign of maturity. I wholly agree.

But you had to let things go as they did for the very reasons you cite. To me, you did a masterful job of handling this, your first delegates meeting. I was most of all impressed when, near the end, a man criticized you for not praising Dan Gladstone and Jerry Karpf for the work they have done for the Village. You agreed with him! And you not only agreed, but then went to praise these two in your own words. I think we elected a wise and fair UCO president.

  9. I've finally found a team worth working for and with. I shall henceforth be gracing the UCO Office with a greater frequency of my presence. Very diplomatic Dave, you've allowed the people themselves (Delegates) to shun those who would only seek attention through disruption.
Not one person stood up to announce that they, or another, would like a bite at the "vice-Presidential apple". If no one ran against Phyllis, she'd be the only candidate on the ballot. Wouldn't that be a fine mess, and would speak volumes regarding the electorate. Good job!
