Flagler Mansion/Museum

If you have never visited the Flagler Mansion/Museum, Saturday is your once a year chance to save $18 and see it for free. Its a gorgeous part of Palm Beach, see http://www.flaglermuseum.us/html/founders_day.html

it may be busy but worth a trip.
Pity the CV bus trip did not work out, was it widely advertised?

  1. Hi Elaine, I had put it in the Reporter ONLY to see what response. The next trip will be advertised better. I had only received 9 people interested. We will try in the fall. Thanks

  2. In the 17 years I have been in Florida, I had never visited the nearby Flagler Museum until my sister visited me in February. It's a great take-in. We went through all the first-floor rooms and saw Henry Flagler's personal railroad car, which you can go inside. On another visit we'll have to tour the second floor and time our visit so we can have lunch at the museum cafe. Flagler, a founding partner of Standard Oil, was an industrialist on a par with Rockerfeller and Carnegie, but was not so well known because he didn't toot his own horn. Some say he "invented" modern Florida. His railroad, which at one time went down to the Keys, linked the entire east coast of Florida.
