Gas Station and Days Inn
Does anyone know what the story is with the gas staion that is on the corner of Okee across the street from the West gate . It has been closed for quite a while. Also, I noticed that the old Days Inn near the Turnpike was torn down. Does anyone know what is planned for that piece of land?

Hi Gerry,
ReplyDeleteThe property is owned by Old Standard Life Insurance Company.
They have owned it since Oct. 2003; Days Inn was a Tennant.
Old Standard pulled a permit NR. B-2010-011187-0000 on 06/14/2010 to demolish the structure.
The contractor is Berg Demolition.
I see nothing on the public record revealing future use of the property.
The property has an interesting history, insofar as it was once part of the Cenvill empire, to be found on Century Village Plat 11.

Maybe we could put a Golf Course there??? ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat about the Sunoco station accross the street from the West gate that has been closed for a few months. Anybody know what is happening with it?
ReplyDeleteHi Gerry,
ReplyDeleteJuly 22, 2010 8:41 PM,
The property is owned by
R B Graves & Son, Inc.
5850 Okeechobee Boulevard
West Palm Beach, FL 33417
Phone: 561-478-2011
SIC: 5541
Sales: $2.5-5 Million
Employees: 5 - 9
Industry:
Retail Trade
Automotive Dealers and Service Stations
Gasoline service stations
Graves filed with Florida Sunbiz on Feb. 19th. 2010 as a Florida for profit Corporation, Document NR. V07469.
The registered Agent was one Seth Lipson, a local CPA.
Graves re-filed shortly thereafter on Feb. 26, 2010; changing the registered agent to Robert B. Cook who is also listed as the President of the corporation.
As is usual, the public record can only tell what is past and present, not what is future.
Since the use code "service station" has not changed, I suspect Graves is shopping for another gas station tennant.
Time will tell
