Voter Amendmen t#4
I received a flyer from the Century Village Democratic Party. They have printed out the amendments coming up for a vote in November. They are telling people to vote NO for amendment #4. In short as I understand it the land use plan would require voter approval of comprehensive development proposals that conflict with already established land use plans. A NO vote would continue the current method of land use planning as estabished by the legislature. Would maintain the current level of public input and would maintain the status quo for lobbyists to influence decisions of local elected officials on land use plans. I don't want some lobbyist to influence the planning of the golf course. I would rather the village vote NO to developers who want to build houses on the golf course. What are these people thinking? In a referendum we would have the say to developers. Do I not understand the amendment or are these people nuts? Was this not discussed at the last golf course meeting? I thought we needed a yes vote to keep the wolves away from the door.

The golf course is excellent case in point. VOTE YES ON 4
ReplyDeleteIt's time for us voters to have a "seat at the table" -- a chance to vote for ourselves and for our neighborhoods. It is time for us to decide how we want to live. It is time for us to stop greedy developers and corrupt politicians that have totally failed us and destroyed most of Florida's natural beauty. It is time for us to make the final decisions. In short:
AMENDMENT 4 IS LONG OVERDUE!
Voters having the final say is not a substitute for the regular approval process we have instituted here in Florida. It's an add-on -- creating the final say!
We voters need to VOTE YES ON 4 to stop greedy developers and corrupt politicians. We suffered long enough and saw our neighborhoods destroyed by growth mismanagement.
