Lizard or Snake

Something new frolicked on our walkway, I guess it did not know it was secretive and rarely seen. Sic: Glass lizards are legless they are often mistaken for snakes. These beautiful shiny lizards can be distinguished from snakes by their visible ear openings, eyelids, and small scales on the belly. Glass lizards are the largest of Florida’s native lizards, but the most secretive and difficult to see. They feed on insects and spiders. 3' long and harmless.

  1. So Elaine, you brought this critter into your living room???

  2. You think it is living under my couch! No, that is an internet photo that is the best for identifying Glassy.
