JUDGE POULTON'S TRANSPORTATION ORDER

NEW CV BUS TO ARRIVE ON JANUARY 1, 2012
-
Hi all,
Occasionally, I am asked why our CV bus system is a common expense. It is so, because of a court case decided in 1983. (Official Records, Book 3961 Page 1864)

The decision is to be found at the following URL:

Judge Poulton's decision may also be accessed from the sidebar under Core Documents.

This is a reasonable decision devolving from Condominium living. In due course of time, we may all require the buss to get around. We have one of the finest transportation systems in Florida, try it, and  enjoy.

  1. Right on, Dave.....We should all be willing and able to support the bus system. Someday we may need one and will be so glad we paid to have them here. HEAR YE!!!! HEAR YE!!!

  2. I totally agree. When we first moved here, we used the buses in Century Village for a year and a half and then we bought a car. It is comforting to know when I am not able to drive anymore, that the buses in Century Village will be there for us. We are very fortunate to have this service. I know some residents resent paying for them in the HOA fees but they are totally wrong in their thinking.

  3. Thank you, Dave. Once again, through you, this Blog has served as informer of why things are the way they are in the Village, with past court decisions and contractual agreements spelled out. It's hard to overestimate how much better informed we are because of the Blog.

Now I can tell any of our owners who ask: 279 out of 284 associations agreed to this setup back in the early eighties, when it was ordered by a judge, citing the fact that a clear consensus of the associations made it legally binding on all the associations.
