MAKING A STATEMENT

Because there were only 10 candidates for the 10 open slots on the Executive Board, all the candidates will be elected to the Board. Why then, one might ask, vote for only five as Dave Israel suggests in the blog post naming his recommended slate? Why not simply vote for all ten?

The answer is: In order to make a “statement.” If enough delegates limit their Executive Board votes to the same few, everyone will see at a glance who did well and who did poorly when the votes are tallied up and published. It may be helpful information to remember in the future.

Blogmeister adds:

The concept is simple, vote for those team members who have demonstrated high productivity and dedicated service.

For those who disrupt meetings, launch frivolous law suits, and fill the Internet with ghastly name calling; send them a message with single digit vote totals.
