Commissioner Burdick suggests a spot at the "defunct golf course" table
For those of you who watched the Beautification Committee meeting on this blog, saw Commissioner Paulette Burdick speak about the defunct golf course.
Commissioner Burdick spoke about strategies on how Century Village can be seated at the table when the County Commissioners and zoning officials examine the proposed development. (If the property sells again and there is a new design)
Attached is Part I of a three-part presentation I started creating seven years ago when I was contemplating moving to West Palm Beach.
The players have changed, but the concepts are the same.
There are parts of this presentation some may want to use, or use a variation of the concepts expressed, or not use at all.
I thought it might be I good time to share the material.
Virtually, it is the same concept that Paulette Burdick was talking about in the Beautification Committee Meeting.

Possible Blog Posting May Need A Jump Start
Hello David
Thank you for this blog and its content.
It is a great asset to Century Village.
I see that there is a draft submission from January 8th, still in the queue.
Did you plan on sharing this with blog members?
It appears that it is a video of the latest Transportation Committee meeting.
Thank you.
Mike

Visitor Call In Not Working ?
Is anyone else having problems with the Visitor Call In?
The phone just rings and rings.
Sometimes it works on the third attempt.
I have been having difficulties with it for about ten days.
Anyone else experiencing difficulties, or should I investigate if it is operator error on my part?
Thank you.

Fun with CV numbers.
On Friday, the Delegates approved several revised Bylaws, including one which requires one hundred (100) member signatures to initiate a bylaw amendment petition. After the Advisory and the Officers Committees, and the Executive Board have considered the petition, a vote of not less than two-thirds (2/3) of the seated delegates is required to approve the amendment.
The minimum quorum of the Assembly is 117: 2/3 (66.67%) of 117 means that 78
votes is the minimum required to affirm an amendment.
One might erroneously argue that since 100 (signatures) is 22 greater than 78 (votes), initiating an amendment is harder than passing it.
But,
100 of 7854 (total condominiums) is 1.27%
So, the 66.67% to pass is actually 52.5 times the 1.27% to initiate.
ps. There would have to be 150 seated delegates to require 100 votes to affirm.
