A week ago Friday, I was preparing to leave CV for the season. It was about 6:00 a.m. and I left my apartment to check the rear of my unit. As I started down the stairs, I noted a man on a bicycle pull in along side one of the cars parked in a guest spot. When I reached ground level, I noted the bicycle leaning against the car but the rider was not with the bike. As I turned the corner of the building I saw a Hispanic Male approximately 50 yrs of age lurking in the rear of the building in the darkness. I asked him what he was doing and he stated he was checking out the back yard. I informed him this was not a good time to be in this location and he quickly left. As you can imagine, this situation is quite unsettling as it could have gone in a very bad direction. The population of CV is quite vulnerable. A strong and active security team is of the utmost importance. Incidents such as this and the past presence of a homeless encampment does not engender confidence.
