president council meeting
we had a really good meeting for our first time out. there were 127 folks in attendance and everyone was at the top of their game. the questions were inteligent and were questions that more than one person wanted to ask. our CAM Rodger Carver was a wealth of information and he didn't take a deep breath for all the time we were there. he ran around the room with the mike and answered everything that was thrown at him (in a good way) with his expertise and educated knowledge.
all the folks realized that we were there to share information and a few folks had some hard core situations that need individual attention so they came into the office afterwards and sat with Rodger and left with a smile.
please bring your suggestions for the next meeting which will be march 9th at 10am in the party room into the uco office and we will see to it that the most requested will be on the agenda.
thanks again for a great turnout, and we hope to see you in march.

Hi Phyllis, The thanks goes to you and Roger. This was one of the best meetings my husband and I have attended, very well run, and extremely informative. We are looking foreward to the next meeting. You are such an asset to the UCO board, again, Thankyou
ReplyDeleteI couldn't attend because of busy situation at UCO Reporter, but I heard good things about meeting from two people. This seems like great idea to me: a time and place to meet and ask questions WITHOUT being under pressure or feeling under the gun. Kudos to you, Phyllis, and Roger.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful meeting. There was no screaming, yelling or complaining. A very well conducted informative morning. I'm looking forward to March.
ReplyDeleteYou missed a bunch Lanny, here is where you can find ways to improve your association and lighten your load. If you are short of Board bodies did you know you can put your Property Mgr on the Board. A Board member can hold 2 positions but only gets one vote. Minutes are not instantly available to all, they must be approved, etc. Then there are Roger's jokes from years of Prez and Rez experience. Put future mtgs on your calendar now, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8, 10a.m. in Party Room.
ReplyDeleteps You can study your governing docs and sign the Condominium Association Certification Form OR you can take a course such as Poliakoff's class. Class is not mandatory.
Very informative, Elaine, just these bits you have passed on! I have marked future dates on my calendar.
ReplyDeleteElaine,
ReplyDeleteA property manager MAY NOT be on a board for any capacity other than advisory. Your property manager can ASSIST a board if members are absent via emails/phone calls.
That was snippet only of Roger's words, please give statute detailed ref #s so we can all benefit. TIA

ReplyDeleteUnless your bylaws say otherwise no one serving on the board may be compensated.
